Frazer Beach: A Hidden Gem on the Central Coast of NSW

My Overnight Car Camping at Frazer Beach

Frazer Beach is a hidden gem on the Central Coast of New South Wales. It's a small beach, about 400 meters long, with a sandy bottom and calm waters. It's a great place to swim, sunbathe, or go for a walk. The beach is also surrounded by bushland, which provides a sense of seclusion and tranquility.

Frazer Beach is located in the Munmorah State Conservation Area, about 122 kilometers north of Sydney. The drive from Sydney takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes via the M1.

Frazer Beach is not patrolled by lifeguards, so it's important to be aware of the risks before swimming. The surf can be unpredictable, so it's best to swim in the calmest areas of the beach.

There are a few facilities at Frazer Beach, including a car park, picnic tables, toilets, and a camping ground. There are also a few walking tracks that lead through the bushland to other beaches and lookout points.

Frazer Beach is a great place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's a beautiful and secluded beach that's perfect for a day trip or a weekend getaway.

Here are some tips for visiting Frazer Beach:

  • Arrive early, especially on weekends. The beach can get crowded, especially in the summer months.
  • Be aware of the risks before swimming. The surf can be unpredictable, so it's best to swim in the calmest areas of the beach.
  • Take all the necessary safety precautions, such as sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses.
  • Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy a meal on the beach.
  • Take some time to explore the bushland trails.

Here are some other things to do in the area:

  • Visit the Munmorah State Conservation Area. This area has a variety of bushland walks, as well as the ruins of a 19th-century convict settlement.
  • Go for a hike to the top of Lion's Den. This lookout offers stunning views of the Central Coast.
  • Visit the town of Gosford. This town has a variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes.

The Frazer Beach Camping Ground has only six spots for tents next to the car. Booking is required from NSW National Parks
